The Joe Cheves Junior Invitational tournament committee will generously award three college scholarships each year for deserving student-athletes. The Joe Cheves Junior Invitational is proud to offer the Joe Cheves Memorial Scholarship, the Eddie Erwin Memorial Scholarship, and the Mimosa Hills – Dan Dobson Scholarship. The Cheves Memorial goes to an outstanding senior young man or woman competing in the Joe Cheves Junior Invitational. The Erwin Memorial and the Mimosa-Dobson Scholarships go each year to deserving Burke County students, who may or may not be competing in the Joe Cheves Junior. This invitation only event is played at Mimosa Hills Country Club and is named for PGA Life Member and North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame member Joe Cheves. Cheves was the head golf pro at Mimosa Hills Country Country for 30 years. Champions earn their way into this event by winning a tournament from a select list of events held in SC, NC, GA, TN and VA.

Course Description:
Donald Ross designed, this course has an old world feel. Steeped in 80 years of history and sitting among the North Carolina mountains expect to find a traditional feel on the old-style layout of the course.
